We have a call of action for Prince William County. Below is a copy of our letter addressing the PWC Police Department’s ongoing retention & recruitment problem.
Officers are being mandated to work overtime due to the lack of officers in the department. The department is losing officers tenured and new to other departments in the state offering better salaries and bonuses. Meanwhile, reckless driving and crime in Prince William continues to get worse as longer response times to emergencies continue to grow due to the lack of first responders available.
The PWC Board of County Supervisors has historically froze the pay of police officers and made promises to raise their pay without following through. The board continues to drag their feet on implementing a sincere bargaining ordnance.
Spouses have had enough of their LEO’s getting the short end of the stick!
